Liu Zhang (warlord)

Liu Zhang (d. 221 AD) was a Chinese warlord who controlled the western regions of China during the late Han dynasty. He was appointed as the Governor of Yi Province by the Han Emperor, but he soon declared independence and established his own kingdom. Liu Zhang's rule was marked by instability and conflict, as he faced challenges from neighboring warlords and the expanding Xiongnu Empire. Despite his military victories, Liu Zhang's kingdom was eventually overrun by the Cao Wei state in 221 AD, marking the end of his reign.
